Terms of use.

These terms are an agreement between you and Protify Consulting LLC, the company that makes RelayJoe. They cover your use of the RelayJoe apps and this website, and using either means you accept them. “We” means Protify Consulting LLC. They are written to be read.

Early access

RelayJoe is pre-release software provided free of charge to a small number of teams. It is offered as is, without warranty of any kind. Features may change, service may be interrupted, and data may need to be migrated. If pricing is introduced, we will tell you before it applies to you.

Your account and your team

Captains are responsible for their account credentials and for who they invite. Join links and spectator links grant access to anyone holding them — treat them accordingly, and rotate a spectator link if it goes somewhere you did not intend.

You are responsible for having permission to enter another person’s name and email into a team you create.

Acceptable use

• Do not use RelayJoe to harass anyone or to misrepresent race results.
• Do not attempt to access teams you were not invited to, or to interfere with the service for other teams.
• Do not resell or redistribute the service.

Not a safety system

This is important. RelayJoe shows projections and recorded handoffs. It is not a tracking, emergency, or runner-safety system, it does not know where anyone is, and it must not be relied on to determine whether a runner is safe. Follow your race organiser’s procedures for a missing or injured runner. An overdue flag in the app means a projection was exceeded, nothing more.

Race organisers

RelayJoe is an independent product of Protify Consulting LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ragnar, Hood to Coast, the River to River Relay, or any other event. Race names are used to identify the courses the app supports. Your race organiser’s own rules always take precedence over anything shown here.

Your content

Your roster, times, and the phrases you write stay yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and display them to your team and to anyone you share a spectator link with. We use aggregate leg timings to improve the projection model for everyone; that use is never tied to an identifiable person outside their own team.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Protify Consulting LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including a missed exchange, a missed leg, or a projection that turned out to be wrong. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using RelayJoe at any time and ask us to delete your data. We may suspend access that breaks these terms or that threatens the service for other teams.
